According to IEA (International Energy Agency) the global hydrogen demand in 2030 will be exceeding 200 million tons per year in order to progress with the global decarbonization and to meet agreed Net Zero emission targets. The biggest challenges in meeting the projected demand remain the required growth of hydrogen production capacities (mainly electrolysis), the availability of storage and transport infrastructure for these large amounts of hydrogen and the price competitiveness of emission-free hydrogen.
Hydrogen made from Waste
H2-Industries creates large quantities of clean hydrogen from plastic waste and other organic waste without releasing any emissions into the atmosphere. The so produced clean hydrogen can be used in a wide range of applications, helping to close the gap between demand and supply for clean hydrogen needed for decarbonizing our planet and stopping global warming, as well as cleaning up our planet from increasing amounts of waste polluting our cities, forests, rivers and seas, destroying habitats for humans, animals and other living organisms.
The world needs more hydrogen
The world drowns in waste
According to Worldbank, the world generates 2 billion tons of municipal solid waste annually, with at least 33 percent of that – extremely conservatively – not managed in an environmentally safe manner. Every minute, the size of a garbage truck is dumped into the sea. At this rate, there will be more plastic in the ocean by 2050 than fish. Each year, humanity produces an amount of plastic roughly equivalent to the entire weight
Hydrogen from waste
H2-Industries has developed a solution to create clean hydrogen from plastic waste and other organic waste without releasing any emissions into the atmosphere. The so produced CO2-emission-free, clean hydrogen is cheaper and safer than any other clean hydrogen, can be easily stored and transported to be available no matter where and in which form of energy. H2-Industries’ technology simultaneously addresses the global problems of massively accumulating plastic waste and the compromise of our dwindling, life preserving water resources while providing for safe, storable, and virtually unlimited clean and inexpensive energy for the planet.
H2-Industries’ technology:
A H2-Industries Waste-to-Hydrogen production unit (> oStore) uses a HYDROGEN THERMOLYSIS process, converting plastic and other organic waste at high temperature in the absence of oxygen into hydrogen and CO2. The process is a two-stage process comprising of a steam reforming, followed by a water gas reaction and a membrane separation of H2 and CO2. At the end of the process only CO2 (100% captured) and H2 (ideally stored safely in LOHC) remain. These products can be sold to domestic or international off-takers and/or can be processed to synthetic fuels (eDiesel or Sustainable Aviation Fuel): CO2-emission free, clean energy for all kind of applications!
